RRAFDC is a non-profitable, non-government organization established in 2000 led by young professionals with diverse expertise. The organization aims to empower marginalized communities through building capacity, skill development, and evidence-based scalable community engagement focusing on livelihoods, environment, disaster management, social empowerment, poverty reduction, child rights, education, and sustainable development. RRAFDC has been working in several districts as a Local Capacity Builder, equipping non-government service providers with skills in agroforestry, renewable energy, and environmental sanitation. Through partnerships with local governments, RRAFDC improves livelihoods, builds capacity of farmers, women, and children, and advocates for child rights and social protection.
RRAFDC collaborates with international and national NGOs, as well as government entities, to enhance the livelihoods of families and build capacity among marginalized people, women, children and farmers. Additionally, the organization raises awareness and advocates for the protection of child rights, prevention of gender-based violence, social protection, and the promotion of a resilient society. As an NGO, it has worked in Chitwan, Makawanpur, Bara, Parsa, Rautahat, Sarlahi, Mahottari, Dhanusha Rolpa and Salyan districts with a number of service providers and community organizations by establishing and promoting functional networks and alliances for holistic development.
Since its establishment, RRAFDC has collaborated with various development partners like; Plan Nepal, LGCDP, UNDP-GEF/SGP, REDD+, Presidents Chure Terai Madhesh Conservation Development, and USAID/NFRP/FINTRAC, including GON (MoPE, DSCO, DDC, PAF), UNDP (various projects), UN-Habitat, FAO/ILO, World-Bank, and several I/NGOs (USAID, Plan, Action-Aid, SNV, NEFEJ) etc.
